2015 Flat Rock Chardonnay – Vintages 286278 – $18.95 – ****+ – Every vintage the Chardonnay from Flat Rock offers something to open with anticipation. The nose offers vanilla, orange and an apple note. There is a slight creaminess on the mid palate and balanced with nice acidity. The fruit really pushes into tropical territory with pineapple and tangerine. Coming in under twenty dollars this is one of the best value bottles from Ontario in your vintages section.
2015 Fielding Red Conception – Vintages 189183 – $19.95 – **** – This is easy drinking and approachable immediately after opening. If the weather doesn’t have you thinking about barbeque this wine certainly will. The fruit is soft and elegant with flavours of blackberry, raspberry, black currant and cherry. There are notes of cocoa on the finish and a slight smokiness.
