2014 Young Brute – LCBO 434654 – ***1/2 – $18.95 – An easy drinking blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. To say this wine is fruit driven is an understatement. You can almost feel the very ripe aromas of Cherry and Blackberry climbing out of the glass the moment the wine is poured. There is a little sweetness on the finish of this wine, but the sweetness is definitely amplified by the ripeness of the fruit flavours in the glass. As with the nose you will get Jammy Cherry, Blackberry, and Blueberry flavours and buried under all that fruit you will find a subtle smokiness that appears on the finish. This wine will make a fantastic match to pizza, chili, or a medium rare steak. No need to worry about aging or decanting this wine just open and enjoy.
